Born and raised in Seattle, Reiva left the Pacific Northwest for Los Angeles after high school in search of a new place to call home that would feed her artistic desires. It was a lot like just wanting to be around “show biz”. She had always been fascinated by makeup artistry and special effects, and at a very young age knew this was her passion but knew nothing of making it a sustainable career. Not long after moving to L.A., Reiva booked a side job doing some background acting in a Raquel Welch film. It was only then as she entered the makeup trailer on her first day of shooting that she realized her dream of becoming a makeup artist was an actual possibility. She quit the film, packed her bags and moved to New York City in 2001.
She attended Makeup Designory in Soho and worked her way up to MUD’s East Coast Lead Artist where she traveled the world teaching and helped to open their first European educational facility in Slovenia. In 2010 she left MUD and began to freelance full time where she continued to work across multiple avenues in makeup including fashion editorials, red carpet events, advertising, tv, and film. Her work has been featured in W Magazine, ELLE, L’Uomo Vogue, Nylon, GQ, Ebony, Paper, and New York Magazine.
Reiva Cruze has been represented by Exclusive Artists Management since 2012 and has made quite a name for herself as one of the industry’s top talents to work with. Her fun and artful approach to makeup have allowed her to work with such amazing people as Toni Collette, Bruce Willis, Debi Mazar, Sting, Cuba Gooding Jr., Patricia Arquette, Alan Cumming, J.K. Simmons, Maura Tierney, Neil Patrick Harris, Stockard Channing, Mindy Kaling. Wesley Snipes, Lori Loughlin, Penny Marshall, Tinsley Mortimer, Ryan Phillippe, Claire Holt, Jason Biggs, Joey Fatone, Tiffani Thiessen, Method Man, Kim Gordan, Chris Noth, Katherine Keener, Vincent Piazza and Connie Britton.
