Shiyena believes her makeup brush is an extension of her hand. It lets her paint away at a beautiful canvas to create that perfect moment where she can gaze at the final outcome and smile. Shiyena has perfected her style over the last eighteen years of doing makeup; she has learned how to enhance people's natural beauty and to see them come alive without masking their face.
Shiyena has worked with many celebrities such as Brooke Shields, Djimon Honsou, Virginia Madsen, Muhammed Ali, Jack Nicholson, Paul Giamatti, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Sean Connery. She has also worked with top photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Andrew McPhearson, Art Streiber, Peter Lindberg, and Matthew Rolston. The publications she has worked with include: Harper’s Bazaar, GQ, Esquire, InStyle, Vogue, and Vanity Fair.
Shiyena’s first actual makeup job took place when she was sixteen; she did two girls for their prom and they even tipped her $20! She would go to school with a full face of makeup on, but no one could tell because she would make it look so natural. She would always tell her friends, "blending is the key," and this is a saying she sticks by to this day.
